1 and a Half Stone!

This week I reached another goal mark thanks to Thinking Slimmer alongside SW.

Me *cringe* at my heaviest 09/11
Me last week!
I am now 1 and a half stone lighter than on January 3rd and I am feeling fabulous about it all! I fit into a size 22 top (bearing in mind i was 24-26 to start with!) My size 24 trousers are really baggy and I'm positive I've gone down a Bra size! (Although I'm hanging on to get remeasured as the Bras I get cost a small fortune)

I have discovered my waist again, which had slowly been morphing into the rest of me and I generally have alot more energy.

I have decided to no longer see the personal trainer as it was just too much for my HMS and I was getting pain flare ups more than reaping any benefits of the workout. I now intend to swim once a week.

Being independant is such a great feeling!
A big achievement for me happened yesterday... I WALKED Rocket to the playground and we didn't even take a buggy. He thoroughly enjoyed himself and I felt amazing (although knackered) that Ive made this milestone as its a a step to my main goal of being healthy enough to play with my son this summer!

Coaching with ThinkingSlimmer is going fantastic! I couldn't thank the SlimPod more for helping getting my confidence up to move more and eat less!

Give a Fork about your Pork!

We were invited out to spend the afternoon at Jimmy's Farm in Suffolk on Monday, where we were given a tour around the farm by Jimmy himself to discuss the importance of being able to trace where your food has come from.

Jimmy is part of the ‘Red Tractor’ assurance scheme, this means that all the Pork that comes from his farm has a Red Tractor logo on the packaging. It is important to keep an eye out in the supermarkets for this logo which means you have complete traceability of where the meat has come from and also a guarantee  on hygiene and cleanliness from farm to packaging. You are also choosing good animal welfare standards.

The farmers that are part of the Red Tractor logo are proud to be and go through rigorous inspections. Over 78,000 farmers and more than 500 food packers and manufacturers work to the Red Tractor standard and are independently checked, verified and inspected.
Growing up, my mum made us Pork dishes, chops, bacon, sausages, casseroles, the normal run of what you'd expect. But while I was listening to the talks at the farm I realised that I didn’t know even half of these cuts and what to do with them! Turns out theres a LOT more to Pork than I had thought!!

For a couple of fantastc videos from Jimmy look HERE, HERE and HERE (takes you to the LovePorkUK YouTube page)

You can also find more information as well as some great recipies and ideas on the LovePork website.

We had a brilliant day out and would like to thank Jimmy and his collegues for inviting us!

Rocket turns THREE

My little man turned 3 on Valentines day and he has blossomed into a cheeky feisty and fun character! We had been struggling with his behaviour, but literally just as he turned 3 he seemed to have a mental growth spurt and now won't stop talking, which although annoying ;) is also wonderful as we get to hear the million thoughts that run through his head daily!

So for his birthday, daddy had the day off and it was a great day centred around family and friends. We had our lovely HomeStart lady in the morning as Rocket opened his presents and showed off his Rocket Tshirt I had made ( By Rocket and Rose).

At lunchtime we went to the local soft play which is HUGE and a few of his little friends came from nursery and also we got to meet the lovely Laura and O :-)

In the evening we went to my parents house and had dinner and opened more presents! Rocket had a fantastic day and I don't think it could of gone better really!

I cant believe my once 5lb 10oz baby is now a PRESCHOOLER! eekkkk!

Little bits of January 2013

OK so I'm late to the party, but hey ho, as its my blog it doesn't matter ;)

I did try to post a picture everyday but my memory isn't brilliant these days so I've decided to post my photo a day as a monthly round up so I can remember bigger things that happen in the month but also the little fun bits too!
